We are an organisation established in 1989 by the members of the Helsinki Committee in Poland.
Our mission is - the development of the human liberties and rights culture, both domestically and abroad.
Since 2007 we have Consultative Status with the United Nation's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Polish Press Agency (PAP) announcement: Helsinki Committee: the government is depriving Poles of their rights
The Helsinki Committee is alarmed by the Polish authorities' position on the Fundamental Rights Charter. "The Helsinki Committee has received with regret and concern the news that at the UE summit in Brussels the Polish delegation put forward an initiative clearly aimed at depriving citizens of certain rights that are supposed to be guaranteed to them by the Fundamental Rights Charter" - as was stated in the Helsinki Committee's letter to President Lech Kaczyński.
