The Workshops were established in 1992 and have been under the guardianship of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights since the very beginning. The aim of the Workshops is to provide a practical introduction to journalistic work and related issues in the scope of Human Rights. Meetings with guests-journalists and practical training are mainly focused on press journalism designed to distribute serious information, including reports and commentary, as well as scientific journalism. Apart from summer holidays and winter breaks, a Workshop meeting addressed to students of universities (and by way of exception also to students of senior high school classes) takes place at the Foundation's headquarters.
The program has its own dedicated website: http://www.wdzgoda.waw.pl
